even though you were not there
as i came upon this earth
nor the one responsible
or present at my birth
you loved me, taught and guided me
through these years as i have grown
and you've never, ever made me feel
like i was not your own

even though you're not my dad
i know that you'll be there
wiith the little things you do
you let me know you care

you're always there to help
whatever the need may be
you've given of yourself
and so unselfishly

now you're becoming the dad
that i have never known
i'm drawn to you more every day
for the kindness you have shown

i just want to thank you
and let you know i care
a second dad as great as you
is something very rare

some people would say you're not my real dad
but i know this isn't treu
for you've been a real dad to me.
in all the things we've been through
　
we've had our ups and downs
sometimes its hard to bend
but you've always been there when i needed you
and thats what matters in the end
　
you've been patient,kind and firm
over the years as i've grown
ans i'm eternally grateful to you
because you've treated me as your own
　
for though we're not tied by bloodlines
the love and trust you've given me
is a precious gist, day after day
and thats\'s what counts as a real dad to me
