    Hello

I had a scan at 13 weeks (13+4), but the sonographer said I was 13 weeks+0. I'm not Dutch but I live in the Netherlands. The sonographer noted that the head circumference was a little small but nothing to worry about. My midwife said that I am not Dutch and that the references are based on Dutch, so my results may not match normal results. I searched on the internet but couldn't find any valuable answers. what do you think of my results; 13 weeks +4
    Crown-Rump length: 72.3 mm = P
    Head circumference: 83.59 mm = P 10
    Belly circumference: 71.4 mm = P 30
    Femur length: 10 mm = P 20

    Hi,

First of all: even if you would’ve been Dutch, four days difference shouldn’t scare you if everything else seems okay. I’m fully Dutch and all my kids had smaller heads than avarage, even though I’m 1.80m (6ft) tall. One baby had a shorter femur bone for which I had an amniotic check (forgot what it’s called in English sorry) and a specialised ultrasound but those turned out fine and she’s now a very healthy (and tall!) almost-8-year-old.

Having that said; where are you from? I can imagine that if you are for example African or Asian, your baby will indeed not measure up (literally) to Western European babies. If I were you, if you need it to sooth your mind, I’d check the avarage birth measurements for your region and translate those back to now.

But in all honesty I really hope you can mentally rely on the good results you actually got. Don’t stress yourself out too much and try to enjoy your pregnancy.

    Good luck!
